The Brompton Bicycle Handed Over By Operator Ihsan Yunus Is Analyzed By The KPK, If It Is Related To The Bansos Case, It Will Be Confiscated

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will analyze two units of Brompton bicycles that were handed over by the former Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Ihsan Yunus, Agustri Yogasmara.

Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri said the analysis was carried out after KPK investigators received two bicycles that were suspected of being linked to the social assistance (bansos) case that ensnared former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara.

"Today, the witness Agustri Yogasmara was present to hand over 2 units of Brompton bicycles to the KPK investigating team. Next, of course, further analysis will be carried out regarding these items," Ali said in his written statement to reporters, Wednesday, February 10.

If the analysis finds a connection with the social assistance case, the KPK will confiscate the bicycle.

"If it is then concluded that there is a connection with a case that is currently in the process of investigating this, it will certainly be confiscated as evidence in the case file," said Ali.

Previously, Agustri Yogasmara alias Yogas, operator of the former Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Ihsan Yunus, handed over two units of Brompton branded folding bikes.

Yogas arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at around 14.00 WIB and went straight to the registration desk. Next, he went up to the second floor of the investigation room before handing over the two bicycles.

As previously reported, in the reconstruction of the case which was carried out on Monday, February 1, Yogas was said to have received Rp1.53 billion in cash and 2 units of Brompton bicycles from Harry Sidabuke as operator of Ihsan Yunus.

Harry also gave money to Yogas in June 2020 around Jalan Salemba Raya and was carried out in a car. Meanwhile, two Brompton bikes were awarded in November 2020.

Furthermore, investigators examined Yogas on Monday, February 8. This examination was carried out today, after he failed to fulfill the investigator's summons on Friday, January 29.

During the investigation, Yogas was questioned by investigators in connection with several matters. This includes the implementation of social assistance procurement in Jabodetabek in 2020 at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), which ensnared former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara.

"Today the person concerned is present and carried out an examination regarding his knowledge, among others, regarding the implementation of social assistance procurement for the Jabodetabek area in 2020 at the Ministry of Social Affairs," Ali explained.

In this case, the KPK named a number of suspects in connection with the alleged corruption case of social assistance (bansos) food packages for the handling of COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area including the non-active Social Minister Juliari Batubara.

Apart from Juliari, the KPK also named four other suspects, namely the Commitment Making Officer at the Ministry of Social Affairs (PPK) MJS and AW as the recipient of the bribe and AIM and HS as the giver of the bribe.
