The Health Test Of The Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates, Mahfud Admits That He Is Coughing

JAKARTA - Mahfud MD's vice presidential candidate admitted that he was coughing when he was about to undergo a well-being examination at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital today. Even so, Mahfud felt that his condition was still healthy.

This was conveyed by Mahfud before leaving for Gatot Subroto Army Hospital from his residence on Jalan Denpasar Raya, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

"I cough a bit because of the frequent speech in the last three days. I'm healthy," Mahfud said on Sunday, October 22.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs said that he routinely undergoes health tests or medical checks up every six months while serving as a minister.

In the medical check-up three months ago, Mahfud's health condition was still declared in good condition.

"So, I've been 66 years old, but as you can see I've never been sick, I've never been admitted to the hospital and always traveled. God willing, I'm healthy," he said.

Mahfud also had time to fast for meals but still drank since 8 p.m. yesterday. He also had had enough rest before the medical test. In addition, Mahfud admitted that he did not have any other special preparations.

"Just standard preparation, yes. I've been fasting since last night until now. Last night I was asked to fast since 8 (night) and at 7 (early) I was expected to get there to start all health checks. I'm ready. I've also rested enough, lah," explained Mahfud.

Ganjar and Mahfud arrived at RSPAD at around 07.00 WIB, using a different but side car. Ganjar wore a white collared T-shirt, while Mahfud wore a long-sleeved batik.

Arriving at the RSPAD, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates will immediately go inside to change clothes used in undergoing medical examinations.

Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, Hasyim Asy'ari, who accompanied Ganjar and Mahfud at the RSPAD, said that today's health examination process is the same as that of other presidential and vice presidential pairs.

Yesterday, on Saturday, October 21, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar underwent an examination at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital for about nine hours.

"As we know as yesterday, the first day of health checks, the duration is more or less the same, the substance to which will be examined is the same, the method that will be used to check is also the same and the team of examining doctors is also the same," said Hasyim at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Sunday, October 22.
