KLHK Asked To Issue PSEL Amdal At TPA Rawa And Tangerang

TANGERANG - The Tangerang City Environment Agency of Banten Province hopes that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) can immediately issue technical approval for Analysis on Environmental Impact (AMDAL) related to Waste Management Into Electricity (PSEL) at the Rawa Catus Tangerang TPA so that fire cases can be prevented.

"From March 9, 2022, until now these letters have not been issued. The implementing partners for the construction of PSEL have not been able to carry out development because they are still waiting for AMDAL from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Electricity Purchase Agreement (PJBL) from PLN," said the Head of the Tangerang City Environment Agency, Tihar Sopian, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.

Therefore, the Tangerang City DLH hopes that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry can immediately issue it so that it can then take care of other documents.

Moreover, this PSEL is included in the National Strategic Project so that all parties can work together to carry out their respective duties for the sake of the state.

"The waste problem can be resolved immediately. If this doesn't work, the risk of environmental pollution and fire accidents due to the open dumping system will continue to exist," he said.

Then related to waste management at the Rawa Cat TPA, the City Government has long planned to leave an open dumping waste management system that risks environmental pollution and fire disasters such as what happened at the Rawa Cat TPA.

Several approaches have also been made by the City Government to solve waste problems in Tangerang City, including through the use of a magazine, then also through the Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) system which turns waste into energy.

Until finally the City of Tangerang was appointed as part of the National Strategic Project for waste management through PSEL. Because the Tangerang City Government is committed to solving the waste problem.

"However, waste management requires the cooperation of all parties. This includes completing the PSEL program which is part of the National Strategic Project," he said.
