Police Arrest 2 Specialized Mothers Who Break Into Empty Houses In Sidoarjo, 4 Times In Action Gasak Money Tens Of Millions

Sidoarjo Police, East Java arrested two women suspected of breaking into empty houses whose occupants had left them at several locations in Sidoarjo Regency.

Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said the two women who were arrested had the initials EW and also SW.

"The perpetrator was considered reckless because he committed the theft targeting the house where the occupants left. Four times both of them carried out the crime," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 19.

At the fourth location, the two perpetrators were arrested by police officers. The perpetrator broke into SH's house in Gunang Village, Prambong District.

"The victim SH reported to the Prambun Police, because on October 13, 2023, when the house he left was empty, a number of jewelry and Rp26 million in cash belonged to him in the cupboard disappeared. With a total loss of Rp56 million," he said.

This T-shirt was revealed when investigators received information regarding a woman who wanted to sell gold jewelry along with a purchase letter on behalf of the victim SH at the Mas Sumber Rejeki Prambong Shop.

"Then the investigators together with the victim went to Toko Mas Sumber Rejeki Prambong, and met witness S, who at that time was about to sell gold jewelry in the form of a cor bracelet along with a purchase letter on behalf of the victim at the shop. The witness is a seller of gold and scales that have bought stolen gold from the two perpetrators," said Sidoarjo Police Chief.

From S's statement, investigators managed to identify the perpetrators EW and SW and were arrested on October 14, 2023 at their respective homes. To the police, the two admitted to stealing at SH's house because at that time the victim's house was empty and left for a recitation event in Gunang Village.

"On this case, officers confiscated several pieces of evidence, namely cash, motorcycles, and jewelry that had not been sold," he said.

The perpetrator admitted to carrying out similar actions in several other locations, including theft to an empty house left by residents, in July 2023 at one of the houses of Jati Village, Prambun District with the proceeds of theft in the form of Rp2 million in cash and jewelry.

Then in September 2023 at the house of Jatikalang Village, Prambong with the proceeds of theft in the form of cash amounting to Rp27 million and gold jewelry in the form of two gold rings along with a purchase letter from Gajah Mas Shop.

Furthermore, in October 2023 at the house of Kenongo Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo, with the proceeds of theft in the form of three gold jewelry keroncong bracelets along with a purchase letter from Gajah Mas shop.

"The motive for the perpetrators to commit theft is to fulfill the needs of life and pay debts. The suspect is threatened with a sentence of Article 363 paragraphs 1 to 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 9 years in prison," he said.
