Mahfud MD Jadi Cawapres, Sekjen Partai Berkarya: Akhirnya Ada Alumni UII Jadi Cawapres

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Berkarya Party Fauzan Rachmansyah welcomed the election of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as a Vice Presidential Candidate (Cawapres) who will accompany Presidential Candidate (Capres) Ganjar Pranowo, in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"Mahfud MD personally is a firm and clean figure, has a good track record. I like it," he said when met at Braya1923 Youth and Artist House, Ragunan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 18.

Fauzan continued, the figure of Mahfud MD is very worthy of being side by side with Ganjar Pranowo. The two national figures can complement each other with their experiences in government and law.

"Pak Mahfud and I alma mater graduated from the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia. He has quite experience in the field of law and government, finally there are alumni of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) who become vice presidential candidates, I personally like that decision," he said.

Fauzan is optimistic that these two couples have work programs that can help Indonesia better in the future.

"In the future, as long as Indonesia's progress program, young people will certainly like it, and of course with sincerity and love for the nation and state. For sure, I like it. The 2024 presidential election is even more interesting," he added.

However, according to Fauzan, the Berkarya Party still has not decided to provide support to the presidential and vice presidential candidates who will be supported in the presidential election later. The General Chair is still observing the names that will be supported later.

"In terms of party, the General Chair will decide," he said.
