JAKARTA - The head of the Indonesian Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Istiono, stated that they will continue to improve by making various innovations, including improving the electronic ticketing system to provide the best service for the community.

Istiono said this through a press release, in Jakarta, Tuesday, responding to comments made by DPR Commission III member Arsul Sani regarding the video uploaded on the Twitter account @Cyber_kawaii008 which went viral on social media.

He admitted that there were still shortcomings in terms of public services. However, some public services can be said to have run well in serving the community, such as Driving License services, Vehicle Registration Certificate, Certificate of Ownership of Motor Vehicles, and One-Stop Administration Services.

"However, we will make this criticism as evaluation material. Protests from the public cannot be avoided because law enforcement is relative and cannot please all parties," he said.

He also straightened out that the incident recorded on the video took place on September 22, 2020, before the National Police's Presisi policy was issued by the Indonesian Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"However, the tweet from the Commission III of the House of Representative (DPR) as a partner of the National Police that is encouraging not to be repeated in the future, we appreciate it," he said.

Istiono also said that his staff had formed an Electronic Ticketing Task Force which was tasked with preparing facilities to install National Traffic Law Enforcement aka Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) on roads in various regions by installing 166 electronic ticketing cameras that are planned to be inaugurated by Sigit in March 2021.

The application of a ticket with an electronic system was one of Sigit's first 100-day work programs.

Previously, Sani, through his Twitter account, commented on the video uploaded by the Twitter account @Cyber_kawaii008.

The video depicts police attempts to stop one car for a ticket. In the video, it is seen that the car was stopped by the traffic police for violating road markings. However, the driver was adamant that he did not violate it while showing that it was recorded through the dashboard camera on the steering wheel recorder.

After arguing, the driver was finally released to continue the journey.

Regarding the events in the video, Sani questioned Istiono and touched on Sigit's promise to create a Precision Indonesian Police, namely Predictive, Responsible, and Fair Transparency.

The DPR member from PPP thinks that the traffic police are still far from Sigit's promise regarding the Presisi slogan. He also asked that similar actions by the police not to be repeated.

Until now, the video recording of the vehicle being stopped by the police has gone viral on social media and has been watched approximately 12,500 times.
