JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) will investigate the incident of a 4-month-old baby that his mother threw into a bucket in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta.

"Yes, that's what we are exploring, the inability of parents to provide support to children and we encourage both to be given intervention, or assessments to determine whether they are feasible or not. Or whether there is a proposal or not," said KPAI chairman Ai Maryati when confirmed, Monday, October 16.

Therefore, said Maryati, parents and their children will temporarily be separated in order to get optimal care and develop both the child and the child.

"There need to be measurable actions, yes, especially this child can get positive care, which protects, which supports optimal growth and development," he said.

Regarding L's actions which are suspected of containing criminal elements, Maryati handed over the authority to the police.

"Yes, if criminal behavior does not rule out the possibility of someone being prosecuted," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Jakarta Metro Police Rekarim Unit, AKBP Bintoro, said that his party would conduct an investigation to find out the truth of the case.
