Kaesang Meets Prabowo, Airlangga: It's OK For PSI To Join

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto said his party was open if the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) decided to join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) to support the presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

"It's okay," said Airlangga briefly at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 12.

Regarding the prospective vice presidential candidate to be promoted by the Forward Indonesia Coalition, Airlangga said it would be discussed in the meeting of the general chairmen of coalition political parties. However, he has not been able to confirm when the meeting of the general chairmen of political parties will be held. "We are waiting for a definite schedule," said Airlangga.

The meeting of the chairman of the political party for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, said Airlangga, will also discuss the winning structure of the 2024 General Election.

PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep, who is also the youngest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is scheduled to visit Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto, Thursday afternoon.

"God willing, at around 16.00 WIB PSI will stay in touch with Pak Prabowo's residence," said PSI Secretary General (Secretary General) Raja Juli Antoni.

Raja Juli said the meeting began with the informal meeting of Kaesang and Prabowo in the birthday of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who is also a senior politician from the Golkar Party. During the meeting, said Raja Juli, Prabowo invited Kaesang and PSI DPP ranks to visit his house.

"At the same time PSI's reply visit, Pak Prabowo once came to the PSI DPP Office. Hopefully the event will run smoothly and be useful for many people," he said.
