JAKARTA - The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or SBY said Indonesia's defense posture is currently getting stronger. According to SBY, this is shown from the higher capabilities and professionalism of TNI soldiers, as well as the TNI's main weapon system (defense equipment) to be more complete and modern.

"I am sure that retired, elders, and veterans agree with me that our beloved TNI, the strength of defense that we have now is at an increasingly advanced and proud level. With this posture and capability, SBY believes that the TNI can carry out its main task in maintaining the sovereignty and integrity of the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as being able to face non-traditional threats that are also often implemented.

He hopes that under the leadership of the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and the TNI Commander General Yudo Margono, currently the capabilities and readiness of TNI personnel will continue to be developed and improved so that the opponent and the people will be more afraid and loved.

"We, who have retired, certainly hope that under the leadership of leaders in the Ministry of Defense and the ranks of the TNI, our TNI will be more loved by the people, more respected by friends, and more feared by opponents," he said.

This is considering, said SBY, the challenges and threats are increasingly complex, both at the international level, in the region, and at home. For this reason, efforts to build the right strength and strategy for the TNI need to continue to be intensified.

"Efforts to continue to build the strength of the TNI, have the right policies and strategies, and the right doctrine must also continue so that whenever the TNI is ready to carry out its duties," he said.

Previously, international threats, namely Israeli military airstrikes took place in Beilt Lahiya in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, targeting the Indonesian Hospital, Saturday, October 7.

The Palestinian official news agency WAFA correspondent said at least one Israeli missile hit the Indonesian Hospital in Beilt Lahiya.
