JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Central Kalimantan Police (Kalteng) Kombes Erlan Munaji appealed to the people of the province, especially in Bangkal Village, Seruyan Raya District, Seruyan Regency, to maintain regional conduciveness. Currently, the local government is looking for the best solution related to the demand for palm oil plantation plasma against PT Hamparan Masawit Bangun Persada (HMBP). "We hope that the public will not be easily provoked, this mediation is continuing by the Governor, which is expected to have further agreements related to the demands of the community to be achieved and can be fulfilled. We are trying. So please be patient," he said in Sampit as quoted by Antara, Monday, October 9. Sunday afternoon until evening, a meeting was held in Sampit, East Kotawaringin Regency to discuss the incident of clashes between a group of residents and officers in the PT HMBP plantation area on Saturday. Reportedly one person was killed and one person seriously injured so he had to be referred to Palangka Raya. The closed meeting for members of the press was chaired by Governor Sugianto Sabran. Present is the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (FKPD) of Kalimantan Province, East Kotawaringin Regent Halikinnor, Acting Regent Seruyan Djainuddin Noor and others. Erlan explained that the information they received was that currently there are still some residents at the location who survived. His party appealed to residents to return to their respective places and not to be provoked. He assured that these problems and problems were being handled by all relevant stakeholders. "Later an agreement will be made between the company and the community and it is hoped that it can be fulfilled soon so that the security situation can be safe and under control," he explained again. He added, to maintain the situation, the Central Kalimantan Police have prepared additional personnel who are ready to be seconded at any time, namely from the Katingan Police, East Kotawaringin Police and Central Kalimantan Police. Erlan reiterated that the current situation and conditions are still conducive, safe and under control. He did not deny that there was one person who died and another person was referred to Palangka Raya. "We are still waiting for information from the doctor at Bhayangkara Hospital. Hopefully it won't be so bad. For the victim (died), an autopsy is currently being carried out, we will see the results, what happened," he explained. Meanwhile Governor Sugianto Sabran did not want to comment much on this issue. After the meeting, he only stated that there had been results related to the problem. "We have a decision, but I want to go to Bangkal. We'll tell you later," said Sugianto briefly. Problems related to the demand for oil palm plantation plasma by residents to PT HMBP, led to clashes on Saturday until it was reported that a resident died allegedly from gunshot wounds, while another person was referred to Bhayangkara Hospital in Palangka Raya City.
