Died In The Criminal Investigation Prison, Ustaz Maheer At Thuwailibi's Body Was Taken To The National Police Hospital

JAKARTA - The attorney for Ustaz Maaher At Thuwailibi, Juju Purwantoro confirmed that his client died today. Currently, Maaher was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital from the Police Criminal Investigation Unit detention house.

"The plan is that the body is currently being taken to the National Police Hospital," Juju told VOI, Monday, February 8.

Juju said Maheer's family already knew the sad news. Juju said, he had not coordinated with the family regarding the location of Maaher's burial.

Maheer died at 19.00 WIB. According to Juju, he died after previously undergoing treatment due to illness.

"Yes, that's right (passed away). Since starting to enter the Criminal Investigation Unit, he is still doing outpatient treatment for his intestinal surgery," he said.

According to Juju, the late Maaher was already sick before being detained. "When I entered I told him he was still on outpatient treatment. Two weeks ago he also just returned from the Police Hospital," he said.

The police also arrested Soni Ernata alias Ustaz Maaher At-Thuwailibi for alleged hate speech via his personal Twitter account @ustadzmaheer_. He was considered to have insulted Habib Luthfi bin Yahya.
