JAMBI - Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) Jambi Police examined former Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Dahlan Iskan as a witness in a corruption case at a state-owned palm oil company.

Kasubdit III Tipikor Ditreskrimsus Jambi Police AKBP Ade Dirman said the summons of Dahlan Iskan as a witness related to the alleged corruption case of a subsidiary of oil palm in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency.

"We will call directly the person concerned for information," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 2.

Previously in examining witnesses for this alleged corruption case, the Jambi Regional Police's Sub-Directorate III of the Corruption Crime Directorate has named 1 suspect, namely the former Director of one of the palm oil companies.

"Apart from Dahlan Iskan, we will examine the witness again and there may be a new suspect," he said.

Dahlan was asked for his testimony as a witness because at that time he served as Minister of SOEs. So the police need information related to finance.

The police revealed that there was a state loss from the acquisition process by a subsidiary of one of the palm oil companies.

Dirman said the company's acquisition process was strongly suspected of having problems, so the Jambi Regional Police then named 1 suspect and in this case a state loss of Rp. 73 billion was found.

Meanwhile, when met after undergoing an examination for approximately 4.5 hours, Dahlan Iskan said that he was asked many questions during an examination by investigators from the Jambi Police Corruption Sub-Directorate III of the Ditreskrimsus.

When evidence was presented in the form of payment for the acquisition of palm oil land purchased by one of the palm oil companies, he was shocked.

Dahlan admitted that there was a payment before the sale and purchase mechanism was completed. With the evidence shown by the Corruption Sub-Directorate III investigators of the Jambi Police Ditreskrimsus, he also felt cheated.

"If you feel cheated, because the transaction occurred before the approval from the Ministry," he added.

This corruption occurred in one of the state-owned palm oil companies to acquire shares in a palm oil plantation company in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency.

The acquisition, which occurred in 2012, has the potential to cost the state approximately Rp73 billion.
