The Head of BPBD for East Java Province, Gatot Soebrotom, conveyed that the mapping of the location of forest and land fires was carried out to facilitate efforts to extinguish the air.
He said the mapping also includes a water source location that will be used to carry out water bombings.
The plan is for water to extinguish forest and land fires from the air to be taken from the Sarananga in Magetan Regency using facilities with a carrying capacity of around 1,000 liters 50 times.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) is ready to operate one helicopter to carry out water bombing on Mount Lawu.
"God willing, the water bombing attempt will be carried out on Tuesday morning at around 09.00 WIB," said Gatot, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 2.
