The Community Of The Bintang Mountains Returns To Normal Tourism And Shooting Of KKB

JAYAPURA - Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force (Kasatgas) Kombes Faizal Rahmadhani stated that community activities in the Bintang Mountains Regency (Pegubin) in the Mountains, are now back to normal.

Faizal said that after the shooting and attack on security forces and civilians by armed criminal groups (KKB) in the local area, the security situation has now recovered. People are back on track.

"The economy is normal, including flights with the re-operation of Trigana planes, both passenger and cargo," he said in Oksibil as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 29.

Faizal said that his party is still in Oksibil, the capital city of the Bintang Mountains Regency. Previously, the KKB carried out shootings and attacks on both civilians and security forces in Serambakon District and Oksibil District on 18-19 last September.

The Cartenz Peace Task Force is a joint task force of the TNI and Polri to curb armed separatist rebels in Papua.

As a result of the KKB action from the Kodap 35 Bintang Timur group led by Badmin, a Brimob member who was part of the Cartenz Peace Task Force died. In addition, three civilians were injured as a result of being shot and abused by the KKB.

"However, with the conducive return of security in the area, community activities will resume as usual, including offices, banks, markets, schools, hospitals and flights," said Faizal.

Kombes Faizal hopes that with normal activities in the area, the entire community can come together to protect it. "Hopefully the security situation in the area remains conducive," said the Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force.

Head of the Oksibil Airport Management Unit (UPBU), Bintang Mountains Regency, Agus Hadi separately admitted that flight services have also been normal with the re-operation of passenger aircraft and cargo aircraft belonging to Trigana Air since Wednesday (27/9).

"The service for the Trigana Air flight on the Jayapura-Oxybil route has returned to normal," said Agus Hadi.
