BANDUNG - Dozens of students from SDN 3 Jati in Saguling Village, Saguling District, West Bandung Regency (KBB) experienced mass poisoning which was allegedly caused by eating cireng mini snacks, aka cimin, which was peddled by a trader in the school area.

Based on data from the Saguling Health Center, as of Thursday, September 28, the number of victims increased to 34 students, with details of 15 students undergoing hospitalization, 13 outpatients, and the rest being treated at Kartini Hospital 3, RSCK 1, Dustira 1 Hospital died, and the Assyyidha Clinic 1 student.

The students who were poisoned are known to start experiencing symptoms a day after consuming cimin on Tuesday, September 26, and some are still lying weak at the Saguling Health Center.

"The alleged cause is spicy cimin snacks, maybe from this spicy," said the head of the Saguling Health Center, Burhan, Friday, September 29 morning.

In order to ensure that cimin is the cause of poisoning, said Burhan, his party has taken cimin samples from traders for a laboratory test at the West Java Labkesda.

"The samples taken are flour, dry chili ingredients, damp seasonings, ready-to-gore cimin, and raw materials in the form of tapoka cassava flour," he said.

One of the students' parents, Setiawan, told of the beginning of the poisoning of his two children. It happened after the two of them took the cimin snacks until finally one of their children had to receive treatment at the Saguling Health Center.

"Initially his first younger brother, yesterday morning (toxics) was brought to the midwife, but instead of recovering, he was nauseous with diarrhea," he said.

After that, he took the initiative to handle traditionally by giving the youngest child a young coconut mixed with cooking oil, then the symptoms of the poisoning began to subside.

"I give my little child young coconut and cooking oil, Alhamdulillah it (meal and diarrhea) stopped," said Setiawan.

After her youngest child's condition began to improve, suddenly the big child also felt the same symptoms and had to be taken to the Saguling Health Center for treatment.

"At night at 8 o'clock this child (big) happened again until it was cold. After that I gave young coconut and oil, Alhamdulillah the heat was a bit down," he said.

It's just that, he said, at 02.00 WIB the condition of his son's body was hot again until he couldn't sleep until the morning, so he was immediately taken to the Saguling Health Center.

"This morning at 7 am brought here, now Alhamdulillah it has been handled by a doctor. Currently the heat has gone down, so you can eat," said Setiawan.
