Case Of Alleged Embezzlement Of Prof Dr Moestopo Foundation Funds In Investigation Process

JAKARTA After undergoing examination by investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday, September 26, the Chairperson of the Moestopo Doctoral University Foundation, Prof. Dr. Bambang Saputra, said that he received 18 questions related to cases of alleged embezzlement of funds or assets belonging to the Prof Dr Moestopo University Foundation for the period 2022 to July 28, 2023.

"So I convey that it is suspected that there are more than 10 billion in the past 1 year. I am here as a witness who explained the evidence of the alleged embezzlement violation," said Prof. Bambang, in a written statement received on Sunday, September 26.

"There were about 18 questions (submitted) to me, and I have explained them well according to what I know. If it is a matter of alleged embezzlement, is it in the form of assets or money? What I know is in the form of money, which is clear money," said Prof. Bambang.

During the examination, Prof. Bambang explained to investigators about cases to losses borne by the foundation, including material losses.

"In the examination for about 6 hours, I have explained everything I know, what I saw and I heard, all I revealed to the Polda Metro Jaya investigators," he said.

"And the questions also lead to material losses experienced by the University Foundation of Prof. Dr. Moestopo. Allegations of embezzlement or transfer of money belonging to the foundation, I think it was carried out by the head of the foundation's development," he added.

Regarding the reporter, Prof. Bambang revealed that there were three people who reported cases of alleged embezzlement of foundation funds to Polda Metro Jaya. The three of them include founders, supervisors and administrators of the foundation.

"If anyone reports this matter, as far as I know there are three reports, there are 3 people. There are families, namely the founder of the foundation, there is a supervisor of the foundation and there are elements of the management," he explained.

"I hope that this case will be resolved soon and will not have a negative impact on lectures or student learning activities on campus," concluded Prof. Bambang.
