National Police Opens Opportunity to Investigate North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Regarding the Death of Brigadier Setyo Herlambang

JAKARTA - The National Police has not ruled out the possibility of examining North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya in investigating the case of the death of Brigadier Setyo Herlambang. As long as there are clues leading to his alleged involvement.

"If the Regional Police Chief has something to do with the matter, he can investigate it," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Shandi Nugroho, to reporters, Wednesday, September 27.

However, until now, there are no plans to examine the two-star general.

Moreover, the assistance team from National Police Criminal Investigation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia will first focus on examining witnesses who are considered to have knowledge of the death of Brigadier Setyo Herlambang.

After the series of examinations of witnesses and the collection of clues and evidence are complete, the case title process will be carried out. It is at that stage that it will be determined whether or not it is necessary to examine Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya.

"Later it will be concluded from the results of the investigations and later it will be held whether (an examination of the North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief) is needed or not," said Shandi.

As a reminder, Brigadier Setyo Herlambang was found dead in the room at the official residence of the North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, Friday 22 September, at around 13.10 WITA.

The results of the interim investigation show that the cause of Brigadier Setyo Herlambang's death was due to negligence when cleaning the firearm.
