Turkish Citizen Who Breaks Into ATM Machine Deported From Bali

Bali immigration officers deported a male foreign citizen (WNA) from Turkey with the initials AOA, who was released after serving a sentence with cases of ATM burglary and possession of marijuana-type narcotics.

Head of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Anggiat Napitupulu, said the foreigner entered Indonesian territory alone in 2016 before being involved in cases and imprisoned.

"The person concerned has been deported and will be put on the deterrence list to the Directorate General of Immigration," said Anggiat, Seras, September 26.

The Turkish citizen was sentenced to five years in prison in the case of ATM burglary and 2.5 years in prison in possession of marijuana.

This foreign citizen is known to be involved in a criminal case of information and electronic transactions that were uncovered after officers from PT. Swadharma Sarana Informatika (SSI) checked the ATM machine on Jalan Suli, Denpasar City or TKP.

In the check, it turned out that the lock where the modem was at the top of the ATM machine was lost. In addition, the boundary connecting to the modem was cut. The foreigner is an international network specialist in ATM hacking.

Meanwhile, in a different case related to the possession of marijuana, this foreigner admitted that he bought the marijuana from an unknown Indonesian about six years ago with evidence of possession of 30 grams of marijuana.

Then, this foreigner was detained at the Bangli Detention Center for committing a criminal act in accordance with Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law, Number 35, 2009 concerning Narcotics and Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.

Furthermore, after serving a criminal period at the Bangli Rutan, foreigners were handed over to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim). After the foreigner was secured or detected for 25 days, on Monday (25/9) this foreigner was deported for the end of Istanbul, Turkey, and put in a life sentence.

"Deportation is carried out in order to maintain Indonesia's security because these rogue foreigners have committed criminal acts by violating the laws in force in Indonesia," he said.
