Kaesang Becomes Chairman Of PSI, Called Dare And Jokowi Behind Him

JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the PKB as well as the presidential candidate for the Change Coalition (readpres), Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin congratulated the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep as chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

According to Cak Imin, PSI's move to make Kaesang a ketum was a bold choice. Because, Erina Gudono's husband had just entered politics.

"This will change the consortation, of course. Where, PSI's choice to make Kaesang a chairman is a bold choice," said Cak Imin to reporters, Monday, September 25.

Cak Imin admitted that Kaesang's bold move was a concern for other political parties because President Jokowi must be behind him.

"Of course on the one hand we are happy, national politics is getting more and more busy, dynamic, and we pray for welcome to the jungle. Hopefully, Mas Kaesang's presence in this world of politics will bring a democratic color, giving the atmosphere fresher," he said.

"Congratulations on fighting in the world of politics, of course this is a force that should be considered for all of us to seriously welcome," added Cak Imin.

Regarding inviting PSI to support the Anies-Muhaimin (Amin) pair, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR said he would look at the dynamics in the future. Moreover, PSI previously often attended coalition meetings supporting Prabowo Subianto.

"I don't know yet, we'll see later, we heard that we have joined Pak Prabowo," said Cak Imin.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep admitted that his appointment as party leader could occur thanks to his special status as the son of President Joko Widodo.

This statement was made by Kaesang after the PSI National Land Coffee (Kopdarnas) event which appointed him as chairman of the party.

"Yes, private. Privileges are always there. That's it, that's it. I agree," said Kaesang at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 25.

Moreover, Kaesang admitted that his decision to enter politics was inspired by his father's footsteps.

Seeing Jokowi's track record departing from the position of Mayor of Solo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, to the President through the PDIP support, Kaesang saw that he also has the potential to do politics like his father.

Kaesang also asked Jokowi for permission when he decided to join the party bearing the rose symbol.

"Frankly, I entered politics, one of the inspirations, my own father," said Kaesang.

"He is a person who I really love and really respect, I want to follow in his footsteps in politics for good. To my father, I want to convey, my permission to take my path, sir. May Gusti Allah bless this path I choose," he continued.
