Giring About Asking Kaesang To Become Chairman Of PSI: Maybe For Political Elites It's Strange, But In Fact

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Giring Ganesha realized that his request to Kaesang Pangarep to become chairman of his replacement party was seen as strange for a handful of political elites. However, according to him, this did happen in the organizational structure of PSI. Moreover, the recommendation for Kaesang to serve as PSI General Chair to the Board of Trustees, according to him, is relevant to the spirit of the current developments. "Maybe for many political elites, it is strange if a General Chair even recommends a replacement name. At PSI we are taught about work collectiveity, the position is about managerial, but the workload is always shared together," said Giring in his statement, Monday, September 25. "It may be unusual, in the midst of many parties whose party's highest position does not change. But the fact is that in PSI, the structure is about how we achieve our common goals, we can fight back according to the party's strategic needs," he continued. The plan is for Kaesang to become the leader of the party bearing the rose symbol to be carried out in PSI National Land Coffee (Kopdarnas) which was held tonight. "Today I will chair the Plenary Meeting of Kopdarnas to immediately ask the Board of Trustees to ratify Mas Kaesang as chairman," he said. Giring claimed to have communicated with Kaesang for a long time. Before finally Kaesang joined PSI, Giring said that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) youngest son was very worthy of holding the position of chairman. "Since my video came out some time ago, I have said, 'It's time to return this party to its real owner'. At that time I had submitted a recommendation to the party, that the young man was Mas Kaesang Pangarep. So there was no sudden or impromptu succession at PSI. Everything is in accordance with the organizational mechanism," said Giring.

After not leading PSI, Giring admitted that he would focus on serving in the PSI Board of Trustees and trying to win the seats of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the West Java I constituency for PSI. It is known that Kaesang has officially joined PSI. This membership assurance was marked by the handover of party membership cards (KTA) to Kaesang by PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha, in front of President Jokowi's private residence on Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Solo City, Central Java, on Saturday, September 23.
