DLH Disrupts Trees In 6 Districts Of Mataram NTB To Anticipate Extreme Weather

NTB - The Mataram City Environment Agency (DLH) has begun to carry out protective tree utilization and pruning as an effort to anticipate fallen trees when extreme weather occurs.

"From the experience of previous years, extreme weather usually occurs every end until the beginning of the year. So we need to anticipate from now on," said the Acting Head of the Mataram City DLH Irwansyah in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday, September 25, confiscated by Antara.

He said the tree mining and pruning activities were carried out on all main roads in six sub-districts throughout Mataram City which became public areas.

"Before being quarantined or trimmed, officers first saw whether the condition of the tree was sufficient to be quarantined or trimmed to grow new stems and leaves," he said.

According to him, the type of protective tree that is trimmed is a tree that is prone to broken or fallen, such as a trambesi tree on Jalan Nangka Tohpati Cakranegara.

Meanwhile, the type of walnut tree located on Langko Street is still being considered to be trimmed. But to reduce the burden, it can still branch.

"If it is trimmed, the walnut tree can die. So we just branch it," he said.

Irwansyah, who is also the Secretary of the Mataram City DLH, said that the tree mining and pruning activities involved two teams from the DLH Task Force.

"If the trees that are quarantined are small, the officers who are deployed are one team, but if the trees are large, two teams are alerted. One team of members is complete, some are cut, lifted, driver and others," he said.

To avoid traffic jams when pruning protective trees, his party provides traffic signs so that road users who pass by are careful.

"After the editing and pruning process, our officers immediately cleaned the branches or tree trunks that fell onto the road onto the truck to be collected and disposed of," he said.
