Market Traders In Solo Choose To Close During Central Java At Home Only

JAKARTA - A number of market traders in Solo have chosen to close during the Central Java Movement at Home Only, which will take effect on February 6-7, 2021.

"Klewer market conditions are currently rather quiet because there are no visitors. Many traders are also closed," said one of the Katrima clothing traders in Solo as reported by Antara, Sunday, February 7.

He added that some traders from outside the city prefer to take two days off.

According to him, several traders from outside the city who have kiosks in the vicinity, including those from Sragen, Klaten, and even Pekalongan.

"I also feel that sales have dropped dramatically since yesterday, usually I can sell up to 20 pieces a day, yesterday only sold 5 pieces. Today, only three pieces," he said.

Most of the products that consumers buy are home clothes. According to Katrima, this is influenced by restrictions on community activities during the pandemic so that they spend more time at home.

"Most of which are purchased negligee, the most selling prices ranging from Rp27,500-90,000 / piece," he said.

Meanwhile, the same condition also occurs in the grocery market. The Head of the Harjodaksino Market Village said that out of around 1,400 traders selling in the market, only 200 were still selling.

"Most of them choose to take a vacation first for fear of 'not' selling. There are only a few buyers, most of whom go to the market shopping for restaurants and mobile vendors," he said.

Even though the number of traders was only small, he together with the Cipta Condition Team still made sure they carried out the health protocol.

"Still, the health protocol must be more stringent. If there are traders or visitors who do not wear masks, we will immediately follow them to close it for seven days and make a statement letter. We have been traveling and the traders have complied with everything," he said.
