Truck Collision 4 Cars And 9 Motorcycles At The Bawen Semarang Toll Exit, 3 People Died

SEMARANG - Police are handling a traffic accident case after a truck hit a number of cars and motorbikes at traffic lights at the Bawen toll exit exit, Semarang Regency, Central Java.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Satake Bayu Setianto, confirmed that the unfortunate incident was allegedly due to the truck brakes that did not work while passing the downhill road.

"The truck with police number AD 8911 IA drove from north to south," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.

When he arrived at the exit intersection of the Bawen Toll Road, the truck brakes allegedly malfunctioned, hitting a number of vehicles that were stopped at the traffic light.

According to him, at least four cars and nine motorbikes were hit by a truck driving down the downhill road.

Satake said three people were killed and nine others injured in the incident.

Police officers evacuated the victim and the vehicle involved in the accident.

The police are also still investigating the exact cause of the unfortunate accident at the crossroads that connects the vehicles going to Solo, Semarang, and Yogyakarta.
