Clashes Of Two Mass Organizations In Bekasi Kill One Person, Allegedly The Problem Of Car Arrears Has Not Been Paid Off

BEKASI - The clash between the GIBAS Community Organization (Ormas) (Siliwangi Barisan Anak Initiative Movement) and GMBI (Indonesian Lower Society Movement) resulted in one death and two other critical injuries.

Dedi, one of the residents around the crime scene (TKP) said that the incident occurred in the Setu area, Bekasi Regency, Wednesday, September 20, at 15.00 WIB.

He said the clashes began with a car pull that was suspected of not paying. It was stated that GIBAS intended to withdraw the car belonging to GMBI members. On that basis they did not accept it.

The clash was mediated at the Setu Police, but at the meeting it was fruitless, so they clashed again outside.

"Initially, it was because the leasing took a car. So what attracted this was from Gibas' side, the one who owned this car was a member of GMBI. After that, I went to the police station, said the police of all kinds, it didn't get hit either. Finally, there was a fight," said Dedi when confirmed, Wednesday, September 20.

Dedi said the clashes were tough until they were finally dispersed by the authorities at 17.00 WIB.

"The chase, so the one in Setu disbanded. Disbanded by the local TNI-Polri," he said.

Furthermore, soon the disbandment, the mass organization group clashed again but changed locations. They did so in the Cimuning area, Mustikajaya, Bekasi City.

"From 6 pm to half past seven at night, the second clash. From that incident, one person died from GMBI and two were critical. But I don't know where the critical came from," he said.

Information said that the police had arrested a number of perpetrators.

"If now it has disbanded, the last time the clash was over at half past 8 (at night). There was a mass organization that died on the spot," he said.

Contacted separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Bekasi Metro Police, AKP Hotma Sitompul, has not provided an answer.
