JAKARTA - The COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on people's lives. There is no exception for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which have experienced a lot of decreasing income or losing their businesses.
To help with this, non-profit organizations Habitat for Humanity Indonesia and FiberCreme are holding entrepreneurship training for communities and micro-entrepreneurs affected by the pandemic. Starting from food and beverage processing and marketing through online networks.
"The training was attended by 200 participants from the selection results. All stages of training from registration, participant selection and entrepreneurship training were held online from September 15 2020 and ending January 20, 2021," said PT Lautan Luas Tbk Head of Government Relations and Assets Management. Ridwan Adipoetra in his statement.
Ridwan hopes that the training provided will be an asset and inspiration for participants affected by the pandemic to be able to produce delicious, healthy food with simple ingredients.
"Hopefully there will be new entrepreneurs in the food and beverage sector, and we hope that this training will continue so that it can provide increasing results and benefits," he said.
Meanwhile, the National Director of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia Susanto, said that the Entrepreneurship Training event was expected not only to help people survive during a pandemic, but this training would be a provision for them to fight independently. Besides that, it also fulfills the necessities of life as an entrepreneur who can support family welfare.
"Hopefully, through this training, the assisted families will continue to innovate with new skills that are accepted and develop towards a better life in the future," he said.
Of the 200 people selected, 3 winners and 7 runners-up were selected. Later the winners of this training will receive capital assistance to apply the knowledge received through a sales competition.
During the winner announcement session, FiberCreme Brand Ambassador, Dian Sastrowardoyo and Indonesian Culinary Expert, William Wongso, attended. Both of them provide motivation for the participants to develop their business in the midst of a pandemic.
"In the culinary business, what needs to be paid attention is cleanliness, good selection of ingredients, diligence, and consistency in doing so. Always innovating is also important to develop quality," said William Wongso.
