Although Residents Want To Reprint DKI ID Cards As DKI J, The Provincial Government Admits Limited Blangko Stock

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) Budi Awaluddin admitted that currently the stock of blank electronic ID cards available in the area is very limited.

Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government plans to ask Jakarta residents to reprint their ID cards from the writing of the Special Capital Region (DKI) to the Jakarta Special Region (DKJ) when the capital city officially moves to the archipelago in East Kalimantan.

"Our Blangko is still very, very limited. Last month we got 80 thousand copies, while our printing needs at that time were up to 87 thousand. Still lacking," Budi told reporters, Tuesday, September 19.

Budi admitted that he ran out of stock of blank ID cards only happened until August. He claimed that the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) had secured the stock of blanks for Jakarta until December 2023.

However, this blank stock is needed to print ID cards for residents who are only 17 years old. Printing this identity card is also needed by novice voters so that they can vote in the 2024 General Election.

"Our data shows that there are 120 thousand lists of novice voters who have not yet been KTP from now on to February 14 (noise day). 40 thousand ID cards have been printed. Around 40 thousand are still in the process of not being printed. The remaining 40 thousand who have not recorded and we are targeting this, so that we can record February," he said.

From this condition, Budi admitted that the government could not directly serve around 8 million residents who owned Jakarta ID cards to reprint and change the DKI status editorial to DKI DKI status to DKJ.

Budi explained that the priority of changing DKI editorial to DKI is targeting residents who first printed their electronic ID cards, namely those who are only 17 years old. In addition, the priority of reprinting the ID card with editorial changes will also be prioritized for residents who want to update their population data.

"The priority is the novice ID card-KTP, later the editorial has changed. Also, those who want to update the data when making changes to the service," he explained.

To increase stock, the DKI Provincial Government will apply for an e-KTP blank grant of 3 million copies. This number also includes blanks needed for printing a new ID card. Where, they are novice voters in the 2024 General Election.

"We will discuss with the Director General of Dukcapil (Kemendagri) for (procurement) in 2024. We will also still ask for approval, whether we will approve all 3 million later. Of course, this is still in a long stage," explained Budi.

On the one hand, Disdukcapil DKI will also apply for an ink procurement budget for printing ID cards in the preparation of the 2024 APBD.

"When the blanks are fulfilled, the ink must also be updated. Don't let the blanks exist, the ink doesn't even exist. The value is that we are still calculating, including later meeting the needs for elections, regional elections, presidential elections, and also changing the status of Jakarta," he added.
