AMBON - The Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) of Maluku Province has secured as many as 10 wild animals, birds, parrots, at Namlea Port, Buru Regency, Maluku.

"A number of animals were successfully secured by KSDA Buru Resort officers together with the Namlea Quarantine under surveillance at Namlea Port," said the Maluku BKSDA Forest Police (Polhut), Seto, in Ambon, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.

He mentioned the wild incident, namely Nuri Maluku (Eos Bornea). Currently, the birds have been secured when passengers boarded the KMDorolonda ship.

"After we asked who the owner of the bird was, no one claimed to be the owner. We have secured the animal at the Namlea Animal Conservation Station office," he said.

The condition of a number of Maluku Nuri birds is in good health and is currently still being quarantined before being released into the wild.

"Maybe in a few days it will be ready to be released into the wild. But we need to quarantine first," said Seto.

Seto hopes that in the future the public will be more aware and can take lessons, that there are many types of Maluku endemic birds whose legal status is protected by law.
