Holding The 2023 LIKE Festival At GBK, Minister Of State Secretary: This Festival Saves The Environment And Welfare Of Farmers

JAKARTA - The New Renewable Environment, Climate, Forestry and Energy Festival (EBT) or LIKE 2023 which is being held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) is currently taking place at the Indonesia Arena, GBK area, Jakarta, from 16-18 September 2023.

Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Pratikno stated that this festival is not only an opportunity to save the environment, it can also improve farmers' welfare. "On the one hand, we can solve environmental problems, and at the same time also improve farmers, breeders, and coastal communities," said Pratikno at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, Saturday. He mentioned that the LIKE festival which was being held while preparing Indonesia to attend the United Nations (UN) Working Meeting Convention on Climate Change or the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP) in Dubai, where Indonesia established a pavilion to display real actions that had been carried out in dealing with climate change. Pratikno also said that President Joko Widodo would attend the top of this LIKE festival on Monday (18/9) in the future and discuss with environmental activists. "This pole is a momentum, to encourage companies and industries to play a role in sustainable environmental momentum and inclusive growth," he said. He also emphasized how difficult the impact of bad environmental management on the future of the Indonesian nation. "We already feel the impact of bad environmental management, a few days ago we felt air pollution in Jakarta, rural communities also experiencing floods, several droughts, and the world is also facing a food crisis," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 16.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the LIKE Festival Committee KLHK Agus Justianto explained that this event was held as a delivery of information to the public on the summary of President Joko Widodo's corrective work-work steps in the fields of the environment, climate, forestry, and EBT. "At this festival, we can see real work results in the environment in the past two years, especially from ministries/agencies, and companies that are committed to creating a sustainable climate of business," said Agus. LIKE festivals, he added, are divided into four zones, namely the blue zone for the commitment of new and renewable energy, the green zone for the Indonesia FOLU Net Sink 2030, the yellow zone for environmental restoration innovation, and the purple zone for the history society of nature. Some of the principles of sustainable environmental management at this festival are one of the reasons for community, through environmental control efforts by maintaining conservation areas, increasing the productivity of the business world, and the principle of resource processing for EBT.
