3,394 Joint National Military-Police Personnel Involved in Securing the Mandalika MotoGP

MATARAM - A total of 3,394 joint National Military (TNI)-National Police (Polri) personnel are involved in securing the 16th series of MotoGP events which will take place at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), October 13-15, 2023.

"So, the 3,394 combined personnel are from the TNI, 175 personnel, the rest are from the police," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Regional Police, Kombes Arman Asmara Syarifuddin in Mataram, Antara, Friday, September 15.

The police personnel involved in security, he explained, came from the NTB Regional Police and district/city police. "There is also personnel support from the National Police Headquarters, totaling 394 people," he said.

Apart from involving personnel, the NTB Regional Police as security controllers outside the Mandalika Circuit area also deployed security support facilities, such as VVIP guest escort vehicles, sniffer dogs and narcotics scanners.

The NTB Polairud Directorate has also prepared air and sea security by deploying AW-169 helicopters and the Baladewa 8002 ship.

The security target, he explained, is aimed at all forms of disturbance, starting from theft, traffic jams and anticipating terror.

So far, Arman said that his party had carried out initial mapping by dividing the security zones into three.

"The first zone starts from the entrance to the circuit area to the vehicle parking area," he said.

Then, the second zone is in the lane of vehicles entering from the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (BIZAM) roundabout towards the parking area. The outer zone starts from the arrival gate for spectators and invited guests, such as at airports and ports.
