The Head Of The Padangsidimpuan Health Office For Corruption Convicts For COCID-19 Funds Was Thrown Into Prison

The Padangsidimpuan District Attorney (Kejari) executed Sopian Subri Lubis, the former Head of the Padangsidimpuan Health Service, who was convicted of corruption in the 2022 COVID-19 fund.

"Kejari Padang Sidempuan has carried out the execution of the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia against the convict Sopian Subri Lubis, the former Head of the Padangsidimpuan City Health Office," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Padangsidimpuan District Attorney Yunius Zega, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.

He said the execution was carried out based on a warrant for the implementation of the Court's decision (P-48) Number: Print-731/L.2.15/Fu.1/09/2023 dated September 11, 2023.

Anyway, among other things, improving the decision of the Corruption Court at PT Medan Medan No. 8/PID.SUS-TPK/2023 PT MDN dated February 9, 2023, which upheld the decision of the Corruption Court at the Medan District Court.

"Sopian Subri was previously sentenced to one year, a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to one month in prison without additional costs to pay compensation (UP) for state financial losses of Rp. 352 million," he said.

The Supreme Court has increased the sentence of Sopian Subri Lubis to four years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to three months in prison, also without additional punishment because he has been entrusted to the Padangsidimpuan Kejari account as UP amounting to Rp352 million.

"This means that the convict is still serving the remaining three years according to the Supreme Court's cassation decision," said Yunius.

He said the defendant was deemed to have fulfilled the elements of committing a criminal act of Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which was amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Previously, the convict Sopian Subri was executed at the Class IIB Salambue Padangsidimpuan Prison, first a medical examination was carried out by a doctor, and the convict was declared healthy.

The convict is in detention at the Class IIB State Detention Center (Rutan) Salambue Padangsidimpuan from July 19, 2022 to August 24, 2022. Then his detention was transferred from Detention Detention Center to City Detention Center from August 25, 2022 to August 26, 2023.
