Taekwondo Coach In Solo Who Molested His Student Sentenced To 14 Years In Prison

The panel of judges at the Surakarta District Court (PN) sentenced Taekwondo's students to 14 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million against the convict, Donny Susanto (44), the perpetrator of sexual abuse.

The verdict against the convict was read out by the Panel of Judges led by Agus Darwanta, with members Heri Soemanto, and Hansanur Rachmansyah, in accordance with the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU), in the previous trial, namely 14 years in prison.

Chief Justice Agus Darwantadi of the Surakarta District Court, Wednesday said there were slight changes related to the fine demands imposed by the Panel of Judges from the prosecutor who demanded a fine of Rp. 10 million to Rp. 100 million.

The panel of judges explained that the sentence handed down to the defendant, because it had a big impact on victims or boys. Aggravating things, damaging the future and causing trauma to the victims, especially children.

The defendant Donny Susanto during the trial answered the results of the verdict with a thought, whether to accept the verdict of the panel of judges or file an appeal to the Central Java High Court (Central Java).

"I thought about it and wanted to talk to my wife," said the defendant Donny Susanto, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.

Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor (PJU) Ambar Prasongko said his party was waiting for the defendant's next stance whether to file an appeal or not.

"We actually accept it ourselves, but because the defendant thought we were also waiting for his attitude for the next seven days," said the prosecutor.
