Surabaya DPRD Requests Siloam COVID-19 Hospital Operations In The Cito Mall Area To Be Canceled

SURABAYA - Deputy Chairman of Commission A DPRD of Surabaya City, Camelia Habiba, said that Siloam Hospital did not have any permits related to the operational plan for the COVID-19 referral hospital in the City of Tomorrow (Cito) Mall Surabaya area. Camelia asked Siloam Hospital to cancel the plan to open and inaugurate the hospital.

"It turns out that Siloam Hospital has not yet had any permits. So we ask that the plan to open the hospital be stopped," said Camelia after an inspection at Cito Mall Surabaya, Thursday, February 4, 2021.

The plan is for Siloam Hospital to inaugurate a hospital for COVID-19 patients on February 8. However, the plan met with resistance from the owners, residents and traders of Mal Cito.

When he came to the location, Camelia was surprised that Siloam Hospital had not yet obtained any permit from the Surabaya City Government. Both the building construction permit (IMB) from the Surabaya City Licensing Office, the Health Office, LH, Cipta Karya, and developers.

"We also ask to temporarily stop activities in the Cito Mall area which will function as the Covid-19 Hospital. Until the results of the hearing next Monday, we ask to stop activities in the Cito Mall Special Covid-19 Hospital," said the PKB politician.

Meanwhile, a member of Commission A DPRD City of Surabaya, Mahmud, emphasized that Siloam does not have an operational permit for the COVID-19 special hospital. He said that Siloam had violated the prevailing regulations.

This is because, said Mahmud, in the site plan of Siloam's main management, namely Lippo Group, the site plan was for the hotel, and it turned out to be a special hospital for COVID-19.

"If it continues to operate, it means that this is not true at all, and the Siloam party is violating the existing regulations. This means that there is a stealth permit, this is what we need to monitor closely," said the Democrat politician.
