Jambi Police Again Allows Coal Transportation To Pass

JAMBI - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Jambi Police has revoked discretion related to the temporary suspension of coal transportation activities on the national road of Jambi Province, so that starting on Sunday (10/9) coal transportation vehicles are allowed to cross the highway again.

Jambi Police Traffic Director Kombes Dhafi said that after a joint commitment of mining companies, associations, transportation service owners to comply with all the provisions set regarding coal transportation, especially road repair efforts.

"Yes, tomorrow it will operate again because there are efforts to repair roads. Such are regulations related to transportation tonnage, compliance with operating hours and other traffic regulations," he said as quoted by ANTAR, Saturday, September 9.

The decision was based on an official letter from the Jambi Regional National Police of the Republic of Indonesia with number B / 3309 / IX / REN.5 / 2023 regarding the notification of the revocation of police discretion, which was signed by the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Jambi Police, Kombes Pol Dhafi, dated Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Considering several things, said Dhafi, deciding on the discretion of the police regarding the termination of coal transportation on national roads as of Sunday (10/9) was declared revoked.

With a note, he said, related parties comply with all provisions related to the mobilization of coal transportation and applicable regulations.

"If the results of the predetermined coordination meeting, violations will be found at a later date, the policy of revocation of the police discretion will be considered, so that traffic can be stopped again," he said.

Previously, the Jambi Police Traffic Directorate stopped coal transportation traffic activities through national roads from 1-6 September 2023, then the termination policy was then resumed from 7-9 September 2023.

Dhafi emphasized to all relevant parties that they can keep the commitments and rules that have been mutually agreed upon, so that no party is harmed.
