Adian Napitupulu Urges Government To Overcome Drought In Bogor Regency

PDIP politician Adian Napitupulu asked the government and related parties to deal with drought that hit a number of sub-districts in Bogor Regency, West Java.

"I ask the Regent of Bogor, the Governor of West Java, the Minister of PUPR, the Minister of Social Affairs, and the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, to immediately build and prepare clean water infrastructure for the people, so that they do not wash, drink water that does not have health standards for humans," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday, September 3.

Adian emphasized that he had traveled to more than thirty villages in the last three weeks. Starting from Rumpin, Cariung, to Jonggol sub-districts, West Java. As a result, it is known that local residents are experiencing difficulty with clean water due to a long dry season.

"I last checked in Sukasirna Village, Jonggol. There, the residents also had difficulty with clean water," he said.

According to him, a distance of 90 kilometers from the Merdeka Palace and 87 kilometers from the DPR RI Building, close enough to move quickly to resolve the problems that occurred in Bogor Regency.

"I hope that with that very close distance, the state can act quickly. We are waiting for its presence and infrastructure improvements," he hoped.

Previously, the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that drought hit four sub-districts on Tuesday (29/8) and Wednesday (30/8). Drought occurs due to decreased rain intensity in the area resulting in reduced springs of residents and residents having difficulty filling clean water every day.

The areas affected by drought are Tapos Village, Tenjo District On Tuesday (29/8) at 07.00 WIB, Mekarwangi Village, Cariu District, Koleang Village, Jasinga District, and Cipambuan Village, Babakan Madang District on Wednesday (30/8) at 08.05 WIB.

This drought did not cause material losses, but had a direct impact on residents. In Tenjo District, as many as 437 families or 926 people were affected, while in Cariu District, Jasinga District and Babakan Madang District, there were 1,174 families or 4,408 people affected by the drought.

BPBD Bogor Regency has distributed 10,000 liters of water to Tenjo District and 40,000 liters of water to Cariu District, Jasinga District and Babakan Madang District.
