Anies Baswedan Claims The Coalition For Change Remains Solid Without The Democratic Party.

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate (candidate) stated that the Coalition for Amendments to Unity, which contains the NasDem Party, the National Awakening Party (PKB), and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), remains in a solid condition for the 2024 presidential election. The Democratic Party is not said to be in the coalition.

"We are grateful that the Coalition for solid changes; NasDem, PKS, PKB are now working together, working together," said Anies after the Declaration of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar in the city of Surabaya, East Java, Saturday, September 2.

He said that after the declaration, strategic steps would be prepared ahead of the 2024 General Election. The Change Coalition immediately moved to disseminate information to the entire community.

"Of course conveying what is our mission, what are our ideas and ideals," he added.

He also hopes that the declaration can spark the fighting power of all party cadres in the Change Coalition to the volunteer community.

"So, what started in Surabaya, God willing, will become an infectious spirit and so on," Anies said as quoted by ANTARA.

To note, the registration of prospective presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) is scheduled for October 19 to November 25, 2023.

Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR, or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament, so that pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It is also possible that the candidate pair will be promoted by a political party or a combination of parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
