JAKARTA - Declaration of candidates for president and future vice presidential candidate Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or AMIN at Balai Andika, Hotel Majapahit, Surabaya, East Java, Saturday, September 2 confirmed without the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

Chairman of the East Java PKS Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Irwan Setiawan through a short message application confirmed this. "Not present," he said briefly.

He did not mention the reason for the absence of the PKS representative at the event, even though his party was still a member of the Change Coalition for Unity.

He only again stated that all PKS ranks were not present at the AMIN pair declaration event. "Injih (yes)," he said.

The ranks of PKB and NasDem were seen crowding the hotel lobby. Several high-ranking party officials such as the Deputy Chairperson of the Central Executive Board of PKB Jazilul Fawaid and the Chairman of the Central Leadership Council of the NasDem Party, Effendy Choirie, took turns giving statements to journalists.

The general chairman of the PKB who is also a candidate for vice president, Muhaimin Iskandar, arrived at the location at 13.52 WIB. Then at 14.27 WIB it was the turn of presidential candidate Anies Baswedan, General Chairperson of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh, and the party ranks arrived at the same place.

Separately, PKS spokesman Ahmad Mabruri said his party was scheduled to hold a press conference on Saturday afternoon to address the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) at the PKS DPP Office, South Jakarta.

PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu will directly lead the press conference to convey the direction of PKS support.

The press conference was held on the same day as the Declaration of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar as a presidential candidate and future vice presidential candidate in the city of Surabaya, East Java.

When asked about the absence of PKS at Anies-Cak Imin's declaration in the city of Surabaya, Mabruri said Syaikhu would explain at a press conference.
