Attending The Declaration Of Anies-Cak Imin In Surabaya, PKS: We Are Still Istiqomah With NasDem

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) was present at Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin's declaration in Surabaya, East Java, Saturday, September 2.

Secretary General of PKS, Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi stated that his party remains istiqomah with NasDem to support Anies, whoever the vice presidential candidate he chooses.

"Alhamdulillah, we are here, there is no need to explain whether we are present or not, we have arrived," Aboe Bakar told reporters, Saturday, September 2.

He added that it was clear that the decision to hold long talks in a short time had been agreed to be attended together with the aim of announcing the joining of PKB and announcing the presidential candidate

Aboe emphasized that PKS remains committed to being in the Change Coalition for United, which currently has additional members, namely PKB. He also hopes that the Democratic Party will still be in the coalition that carries the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah, God willing, we are still istiqomah. We are with NasDem and now there is one (PKB)," said Anies.

"I hope that one (Democrat) does not come out, hopefully it will still survive together," he added.

However, the Chairman of the MKD DPR RI was reluctant to comment on the political stance of the Democratic Party which was announced by the High Council of the Party last night. Namely regarding the withdrawal of support to Anies and stating that he left the coalition of changes. "Never mind, I don't have to talk much about the affairs of each party," said Aboe.

Most importantly, added Aboe, PKS is solid to win Anies in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. He said that Anies had discussed the issue of vice presidential candidates with the general chairmen of political parties who were members of the KPP.

"Alhamdulillah, we remain with Anies and the coalition. From the start, our agreement was entrusted to our presidential candidate Anies but everything was also discussed with the party chairman," he concluded. Previously, PKB Deputy Secretary General Syaiful Huda said the declaration would be held at the Majapahit Hotel, Surabaya at 14.00 WIB.

In the event which was attended by Anies and Cak Imin in person, the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh will also give a speech.

"The event will be held simply, but solemnly. To ensure that the Anies-Muhaimin pair's steps are smooth until they win the 2024 presidential election," said Huda, Saturday, September 2.
