Begal Kawakan Who Often Drew Sickles To The Neck Of His Victims Was Arrested By The Police In Cirebon

JAKARTA - The Police of Cirebon City Police, West Java Police have arrested a thief who has acted nine times, and is still hunting down another person who has become a fugitive.

"The violent thief suspect (begal) that we arrested has the initials PG," said Cirebon Police Chief AKBP Imron Ermawan, in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Thursday, February 4.

According to him, the suspect PG committed a crime not only alone, but he and his colleagues are currently declared fugitives.

He explained that when the PG suspect and his colleagues were acting they threatened the victim using sickles. When the victim was alone the suspect immediately draped the sickle around the victim's neck.

Then the suspect took the victim's cell phone, then immediately ran away. However, when the victim fought back, the suspect did not hesitate to injure him.

"Every time the suspect carries out an action, he will definitely threaten the victim by using sickles and immediately taking valuables," he also said.

Based on the suspect's statement, said Imron, PG and his friend who is currently a fugitive have committed the same crime nine times.

Meanwhile, the proceeds of his crime were in the form of a cell phone and other goods which the suspect sold at a rumpok market in Cirebon City.

Evidence confiscated from the suspect's hands, including a cell phone and also a sharp weapon of the sickle type used to threaten the victim.

"Our suspect is charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of seven years," said Imron.
