President Jokowi Inaugurates New Face TMII

JAKRTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the new face revitalization project of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Friday night, which cost more than IDR 1 trillion.

"Alhamdulillah, the revitalization of TMII since January 2022, today has been completed which cost Rp. 1 trillion, Rp. 70 billion, plus Rp. 200 billion from PT. InJourney," said President Jokowi in a speech on the Inauguration of TMII Renovation followed from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.

Through this inauguration, the President hopes that the public can enjoy and visit the new face of TMII which is neatly arranged, greener, more beautiful and more comfortable.

The project, said Jokowi, at the same time returned TMII to the regional master plan, namely 70 percent of green open space and 30 percent of buildings.

"This revitalization at the same time restores the initial spirit initiated by Mrs. Tien Suharto and during the afternoon TMII should be cooler, because the concept has been returned, such as the initial master plan, which is 70 percent of green open space and 30 percent of buildings," he said.

Jokowi said that as many as 33 regional platforms along with museum facilities in tourist destinations carrying the theme of the Indonesian Explore had been beautified with the concepts of inclusive, culture, and smart.

"I am sure, with this new face of TMII, it will become a big icon of tourism in Jakarta and of course also in Indonesia," he said.

On the same occasion, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the revitalization of TMII was worked on through the collaboration of the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and the Ministry of SOEs.

"We are also with SOEs inJourney investing approximately Rp200 billion for beutification and other things," he said.
