Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture or Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy reviewed the implementation of government development programs in Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

Muhadjir conveyed that he was sent by President Joko Widodo to ensure that the implementation of the development plan in Puncak Regency, especially Sinak District and its surroundings, went well.

He said the government was running several development programs in Puncak Regency after drought and food shortages hit parts of the district.

The development program carried out includes the extension of the Sinak Airport runway, the construction of logistics warehouses, as well as the construction of Sinak-Ilaga, Sinak-Agandugume, and Sinak-Mulia roads.

According to Muhadjir, the government in the first phase extended the runway of Sinaks Airport so that it could be used for large aircraft landings in the transportation of building materials and other logistics.

"If a wide-body plane can land there, later the transportation of goods by air for Sinak District and its surroundings such as Agandugume, Lambewi, Oneri, Mulia, Ilaga, will run smoothly," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.

Muhadjir explained that the government will build roads connecting districts and food barns to deal with the possibility of food supply problems in winter.

"So it not only solves the problem of scarcity of food, but also expands access by land," he said.

Muhadjir asked the community, community leaders, and religious leaders to support the implementation of government development programs in the Puncak Regency area, among others, by helping to maintain the security of development areas.

"I ask the religious leaders, the pastor, ask the traditional chairman, the tribal chief, to ask for support from this government plan. Keep the security, which is harmonious, compact, we continue to advance Sinak and its surroundings," he said.

"Hopefully with the longer airport the construction will run smoothly," he added.

During his visit to Puncak Regency, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, among others, checked the temporary food barns and aid items stored in the barn.

In addition, he laid the first stone for the construction of a food warehouse, checked the construction of the runway at the airport, and provided school equipment assistance to children.

While in Puncak Regency, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also received input from religious leaders to build a boarding school.

Central Papua Provincial Government Apparatus Ausilius You and Puncak Regent Wilem Wandik invite people in the Puncak Regency to support the implementation of the central government development program.

"Let's work together to work together to realize it," said Ausilius You.
