Bareskrim Names Alvin Lim As Suspect In The Aftermath Of 'Mafia Nest Prosecutor' Statement

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named advocate Alvin Lim as a suspect in the alleged case of hate speech, slander, and defamation. The determination was in the aftermath of his statement calling the 'Mafia Nest Prosecutor'.

"From our investigation, we have also named a suspect against a Navy brother," said Director of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Adi Vivid to reporters, Wednesday, August 30.

The determination of the suspect against Alvin Lim was confirmed to have gone through a process of investigation and investigation according to the rules.

The investigative team and investigators have examined dozens of witnesses and experts to shed light on the case.

"We have examined 28 witnesses and then we have also carried out witness examinations or requests for information from expert witnesses as many as eight expert witnesses," he said.

For experts who are asked for information, Vivid continued, among others, experts in the ITE Law, criminal experts, linguists, sociologists, and advocate code of ethics experts.

"We have examined expert witnesses regarding the advocate's professional code of ethics, we have examined 4 expert witnesses," he said.

Then, in a series of case investigations, investigators have asked the press council for information. This was done because Alvin Lim used the YouTube Investigation TV account when conveying about the mafia's nest prosecutor's office.

"We have conducted an examination of the press council regarding the question TV, so it was stated that the question tv for press products was not registered with the press council," said Vivid.

In this case, Alvin was charged with Article 45a Paragraph 2 Juncto Article 28 Paragraph 2 and or Article 45 Paragraph 3 Juncto Article 27 Paragraph 3 of the ITE Law and or Article 14 Paragraphs 1 and 2 and Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and Article 310 and Article 311 of the Criminal Code.
