The Prosecutor's Office Names The Suspect In The Corruption Fund For The East OKU Bawaslu Grant

MARTAPURA - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel) has named three suspects in the alleged corruption case of grant funds in the local Bawaslu for the 2019 fiscal year.

"Today, the suspect has been officially named for the alleged corruption case of Bawaslu grant funds for the 2019 fiscal year with a budget value of Rp. 16.5 billion," said East OKU Kejari Andri Juliansyah through Head of Intelligence Section A Arjansyah Akbar in Martapura as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

He said the three suspects had the initials M, AW and K who served as Assistant Expenditure Treasurers (BPP) and Commitment Making Officers (PPK) at the East OKU Bawaslu Secretariat since July 2020.

The suspects are suspected of harming state finances for the use of the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Pilkada grant funds at the East OKU Bawaslu.

In the management and use of financial funds for the East OKU Bawaslu grant, suspects K, M and AW did not carry out their duties according to the rules.

In fact, the grant funds from the local government that were disbursed to the East OKU Bawaslu were not used according to their designation.

In carrying out criminal acts of corruption, the suspects made fictitious meetings, mark up for goods and services expenditures, fictitious SPPD, and salaries for honorary workers that were not paid.

Based on the results of an interim investigation, he continued, the state losses caused in this corruption case amounted to Rp4.5 billion.

"After being named suspects, they will immediately be detained for the next 20 days," he said.
