Polda Metro-Puspom AD Unloads Weapons Modificator Factory In Semarang

Polda Metro Jaya and Puspom TNI Army have uncovered cases of the circulation of homemade firearms (senpi). In fact, dismantled the senpi modification specialist factory.

"The total that we have revealed is that the Criminal Police of Metro Jaya, including collaborating with the Army Puspom some time ago, is currently approximately 55 illegal firearms," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Hengki Haryadi to reporters, Friday, August 18.

The involvement of the TNI AD Puspom in disclosing cases of the circulation of senpi is due to the discovery of a mode of using fake membership cards on behalf of the Indonesian Army and the Ministry of Defense.

The collaboration with the TNI AD Puspom is said to have been going on since June 2023.

"(The mode) is to use fake cards as if they were genuine, even carry out military-like training even though they are not military," he said.

From the collaboration between agencies, it finally dismantled the existence of a senpi modification specialist factory. This means that the airgun type weapon is transformed into a more dangerous rifle.

"We revealed yesterday that the modifier factory in Semarang, yes, we also arrested the recipients of the firearms, then we got some evidence," he said.

However, it was not detailed about the details of the disclosure of the case. The reason is that the development process is still being carried out.

So far, Hengki only said that the factory's modified rifles are widely circulated in the community. In fact, it is not uncommon to sell factory guns.

"Well, this modifier weapon is widely played by, the professional one is in Semarang which we just revealed yesterday, and also a firearm manufacturer weapon," said Hengki.
