Blitar Police Reveals Subsidized Fuel Misappropriation Case, Car 'transformed' Accommodates 300 Liters Of Diesel

BLITAR - Blitar Resort Police, East Java, revealed a case of misuse of sales of subsidized diesel fuel (BBM) by modifying vehicles so that they can accommodate more.

Blitar City Police Chief AKBP Danang Setiyo Pambudi Sukarno said the police arrested HS (42), a resident of Jatilenger Village, Ponggok District, Blitar Regency after buying an unusual diesel type subsidized fuel.

"This perpetrator modified his vehicle which generally contains 60 liters of fuel, but was modified with approximately 300 liters," he said in Blitar as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.

The perpetrator carried out the action by buying diesel fuel to gas stations in Blitar. In the action, the perpetrator used mobile vehicles at several gas stations to collect subsidized fuel.

The vehicle was nicknamed a helicopter because it was rotating around the area to enter various gas stations, fill subsidized fuel, then go out to the shelter, then after the tank was empty, they returned to the gas station many times to fill subsidized fuel.

The perpetrator, he said, was arrested while in Bangsri Village, Nglegok District, Blitar Regency. He also did not move when he was arrested by law enforcement officials.

The police also secured a number of items, namely two dump trucks, empty jerry cans, diesel jerry cans, two barcodes for refueling, one cell phone, and several other items.

In addition, the perpetrator has also been carrying out the action for about a year. He bought diesel fuel for Rp. 6,800 and sold it again for Rp. 8,500 per liter.

"The perpetrator committed a criminal act of abusing the transportation or trading of subsidized fuel without a permit in the jurisdiction of the Blitar City Police. We secured 1,020 liters of fuel and two dump trucks," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 40 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation amendments to Article 40 Jo Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas. Earth.

"Everyone who abuses, transports, and/or trades in oil fuel subsidized by the government shall be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion," he said.
