BPBD Calls 8 Villages With 9,153 Residents In Cilacap Affected By Drought

CILACAP - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cilacap Regency, Central Java stated that the number of residents affected by drought in the 2023 dry season has reached 9,153 people from 3,011 families. Head of the Cilacap Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Budi Setyawan, said that thousands of residents affected by the drought were spread across eight villages in four sub-districts. "Today we again distributed 2 tanks of clean water for 247 families consisting of 809 people in Gintungreja Village, Gandrungmangu District," he said in Cilacap, Antara, Monday, August 14. Thus, he said, the Cilacap Regency BPBD has so far distributed 40 tanks of clean water from the Cilacap Regency APBD for Fiscal Year 2023 for residents in eight villages affected by drought. He said clean water assistance for Kawunganten District was distributed to three hamlets in Bojong Village which included 8 tanks of Bugelsampang, 2 tanks of Gunungjaya, and 5 tanks of Jayagiri. In addition, Karangsari Hamlet in Kawunganten Village as many as 3 tanks and Sitasari Wetan Hamlet in Kubangkangkung Village as many as 1 tank. Meanwhile in Patimuan District, clean water assistance was distributed to three hamlets in Rawapu Village which included 1 tank of Kalenyar, 3 tanks of Rawapu, and 1 tank of Cikuning, and 3 tanks of Sekarmayang Hamlet in Bulupayung Village. Furthermore, clean water assistance for Dayeuhluhur District was distributed to two hamlets in Matenggeng Village consisting of 1 tank and 2 tanks of Sikluk and 2 tanks of Gandrungmangu District which included 8 tanks of Pegergunung Hamlet in Karanggintung Village and 2 tanks of Cihaur Hamlet in Gintungreja Village. Furthermore, Budi said that his party was ready to distribute clean water assistance to residents affected by drought as long as there was a request for assistance submitted by the local village government to the Cilacap Regency Government.

"We also invite all agencies, organizations, and business entities to participate in the distribution of clean water aid for people in need," he said.
