The Fourth Phase Of The Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine Arrives In Indonesia, 11 Million Doses In The Form Of Raw Materials

JAKARTA - As many as 10 million doses of raw materials and 1 million additional doses or overfill of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in Indonesia. The vaccines arrived in Indonesia today, Tuesday, February 2, and it is the fourth phase of delivery.

In addition to receiving vaccine raw materials, in this shipment, Sinovac also sent 10 million doses of vaccines that were ready for use. Millions of doses of this vaccine arrived via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.

"A number of vaccines have arrived in Indonesia since last December and today there are 10 million vaccines plus 10 million vaccine raw materials plus 1 million overfills from Sinovac", Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Oscar Primadi said at a press conference broadcast on the Secretariat YouTube account. He said the imported vaccines were a concrete form of the government in presenting and ensuring public health amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the arrival of millions of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine since last January until now, the total existing vaccine doses have reached 28 million and are ready to be given to the public.

Oscar also ensured that the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia was safe and met the emergency use of authorization (EUA) standards from the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM). Apart from that, the distribution will also be made in accordance with the scheme set by the government.

"We also ensure that there is an emergency use of authorization from the Food and Drug Administration and also where the Indonesian Ulema Council has guaranteed that this vaccine is halal", he said.

Adding to Oscar's statement, the Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination from the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tardmizi, said that the vaccines that were ready and arrived today are planned to be given to second-stage recipients, namely public servants.

"The 10 million doses received today are planned to be used for the second phase of vaccination, namely public services. Providing protection for 17.4 public service officers who also work in areas exposed to COVID-19", said Nadia.

It is known that the government plans to vaccinate 181.5 million people to achieve communal immunity against COVID-19.

The first batch of vaccinations will be carried out from January to April 2021 with the target of 1.3 million health workers in 34 provinces, 17.4 million public officers, and 21.5 million elderly citizens.

The second batch of vaccinations will be carried out from April 2021 to March 2022 with a target of 63.9 million people in areas with a high risk of transmission and 77.4 million other community members using a cluster approach according to vaccine availability.
