PAN-Golkar Meeting With Prabowo, PPP: Enlarging The Opportunities Of Mr. Sandi Cawapres Mas Ganjar

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Advisory Council of the PPP DPP Romahurmuziy considers that there will be benefits for his party when PAN and Golkar decide with Gerindra-PKB to support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election.

According to Romy, this opens up greater opportunities for the Chairman of the PPP Election Winning Body, Sandiaga Uno, to be elected by the PDI-P (PDIP) as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo.

Bearing in mind, previously PAN had offered the name Erick Thohir to PDIP as Ganjar's vice presidential candidate.

"This also makes us (PPP) excited because this composition increases the chances of the Chairman of Bappilu PPP, Pak Sandi, as vice presidential candidate Mas Ganjar," Romy said in his statement, Sunday, August 13.

With the support of Golkar and PAN for the Gerindra-PKB coalition, said Romy, the atmosphere of competition for presidential and vice-presidential candidates towards the 2024 General Election is becoming more challenging.

"Also this will trigger the spirit of the coalition of parties that carry Ganjar Pranowo to all out with spirit now or never," he said.

Meanwhile, Romy said that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) which his party had formed with the Golkar Party and PAN could be said to have disbanded because the two parties had joined the Gerindra Party and PKB coalitions.

From the start, Romy said that KIB would automatically disband if these three parties had turned and expressed their support for the presidential candidate promoted by other parties.

Now, Golkar and PAN have supported Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto to become presidential candidates. Meanwhile, PPP also moved to support Ganjar Pranowo who had been promoted by PDIP.

"With the official support of PAN and the Golkar Party to Pak Prabowo today, it is automatically today that the inauguration of the disbandment of KIB aka goodbye KIB," said Romy.

Today, the Golkar Party and PAN declared their support for Prabowo Subianto to become a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election. With this support, Golkar and PAN officially docked with the Gerindra and PKB coalitions.
