PAN Signal Supports Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) gave a signal that it would provide support to the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, in the 2024 presidential election contestation (Pilpres).

Chairman of the DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay said this departed from the aspirations of cadres in the regions.

"In particular, PAN support seems to be more inclined towards Prabowo. Many cadres in the regions ask to support Prabowo. It is based on input from the people below," said Saleh.

The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI emphasized that his party is very concerned about the voices and aspirations of the people, in addition to the survey results.

"PAN certainly relies on the data and facts conveyed by cadres and sympathizers," he said, as quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 12.

He said that PAN's political communication regarding the future presidential candidate (candidate) and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) with other political parties was getting more intensive, regarding the approaching time of the 2024 election.

Saleh said PAN had communicated with various parties to absorb the aspirations that developed in society, both with political parties, as well as organizations and various other elements of society.

"With the parties, it continues. In the near future, there will be more cross-party meetings. The topic is political dynamics related to presidential and vice-presidential candidates. Looking for formulation and equalizing perceptions. Yes, that kind of thing," he said.

He said that PAN would remain cautious while waiting for the right momentum to announce the direction of support for its party in facing the 2024 presidential election.

Most importantly, said Saleh, PAN is working hard so that the next national leader is in favor of the interests of the people.

"Is there still a possibility of moving support? In politics everything can still be done, but until now, that's the picture that exists in PAN," he said.
