No Participants Passed The Spokesperson Selection, KPK Explains The Reason

JAKARTA - Thousands of participants who took part in the selection as a spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) were declared not to qualify. This is because they are considered unable to fulfill a number of qualifications to fill this position and this is not the first.

"The process of recruitment and job selection at the KPK with the result that no participant meets the qualifications does not only happen this time. For the KPK the standards of integrity, competence, and qualifications required from a position are the main things in order to maintain the quality of KPK human resources", said Acting KPK spokesperson the field of prosecution Ali Fikri through his written statement, Tuesday, February 2.

He explained, the KPK opened the recruitment and selection announcement for the position of Spokesperson from 8-21 August 2020. This announcement was made through the website: https://ppm-rekrutmen.com/kpk and one of the national print media.

"Registrants are divided into 2 categories, namely the Segara Civil Apparatus (ASN) / TNI / POLRI with 144 applicants, and non-State Civil Servants (ASN) or the general public with 2030 applicants. So that a total of 2,174 applicants", he said.

This recruitment process, said Ali, has a number of stages. First, advertising is carried out, registration via the site provided, and the announcement of the results of the administrative selection.

Then proceed with the second stage, namely a potential test, the third stage of competency assessment and English as well as a medical test, and finally an interview with the leader.

"At the administrative selection stage, 7 participants passed and were invited to take part in the advanced selection stage, namely the potential test with the composition of ASN participants amounting to 1 participant and non-ASN / general participants totaling 6 participants", he said.

Furthermore, the remaining participants entered into the second selection, namely the potential test held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the PPM Management Building which was attended by 6 participants while one participant was not present. From the test results, Ali continued, there was only one participant who met the qualification criteria required by the position.

"However, due to several considerations, the KPK has opened opportunities for internal employees to take part in recruitment and selection twice, but no employees have registered", he said.

Ali said that the position of Spokesperson is a specific position with a test kit to find out the specific abilities of new applicants which can be found at the competency assessment stage. Thus, all applicants who meet the administrative requirements and have taken the potential test are included in the third stage, namely the competency assessment test and English as well as a medical test.

"The third stage test was held on September 5, 2020, still at the PPM Management Building and was only attended by five participants while one participant did not attend. The result was that all participants did not meet the qualification criteria", said Ali.

Furthermore, the organizers presented the results of each stage of the test to the KPK leadership, from potential tests to competency assessments and English and medical tests.

As a result, the meeting decided to postpone the announcement of the results of the third stage selection even though participants had previously been informed via the website and email that the announcement of the third stage would be informed later. Furthermore, after the delay was carried out, it was finally decided that no participant would qualify because they did not meet the qualifications.

"In January 2021, the follow-up process of the recruitment and selection of the Main Public Relations specialist-Spokesperson will be decided, based on the results of a series of tests with the conclusion that no participant meets the qualifications to proceed to the interview stage with the KPK leadership", he explained.
