JAKARTA - The Metro Jaya Regional Police in collaboration with the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit have implemented a traffic diversion strategy around Jalan Merdeka Barat, ahead of a demonstration by workers at the Monas Horse Statue roundabout, on Thursday 10 August.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin asked the public to avoid the area around the Monas Horse Statue Roundabout, Abdul Moeis Street, Medan Merdeka Street, Harmoni, and the DPR/MPR Building, because of plans for expressing opinions from various elements of workers.

"Today, the Traffic Division of Polda Metro Jaya has issued an appeal, reminding that people can avoid the Merdeka Barat route because there are activities. Alternatively, people can choose the Merdeka Selatan, East, and North routes," said Komarudin.

The following is the adjustment of traffic flow which will be enforced from 09.00 WIB until the end of labor demonstrations:

- Traffic flow from the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout to Jalan Merdeka Barat will be directed towards Jalan Budi Kemuliaan or Jalan Merdeka Selatan.- The traffic flow from Tugu Tani to Jalan Merdeka Utara will be diverted to Jalan Perwira (situational).- The traffic flow from Jalan Hayam Wuruk to Jalan Majapahit / Jalan Merdeka Utara will be diverted to Jalan Juanda or Jalan Suryopranoto.- The traffic flow going to Veteran 1, Veteran 2, and Veteran 3 will be directed to Jalan Suryopranoto or Jalan Gajah Mada.- The traffic flow from Jalan Abdul Moeis to Jalan Gajah Mada will be directed to Jalan Tanah Abang 1.- The traffic flow going to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat will be directed to the intersection of Jalan Budi Kemuliaan.
